From the Founder and President

Riverland Christian Academy exists only because of the vision of God's people in Riverland Baptist Church. This vision arose because of the moral decay of the modern society. As Godly parents began to see children drift into sin and forsake the heritage they had in the Christian faith, some knew that it was time to rid their children of the influences that were ripping apart the very fabric of the Christian home. More and more parents began realizing that the school to which they were sending their children for over thirty hours each week was working against the most important thing they were trying to instill in their children - their faith in God.

Many parents tried to teach their own children, but some found that they lacked the expertise and time to do justice to their children's education. Something had to be done to help the parents who were strugglng to train their children as the Bible commands ( Deuteronomy 6:5-7; Proverbs 22:6 ).

The answer was a school of their own. A school where Godly teachers could not only provide the expertise in education but also provide what they really needed - assistance in building their children's faith. What a difference that would make! Instead of having to undo all the damage that was being done in state schools, parents could now give their children encouragement in the faith without even being there!

Therefore, Riverland Christian Academy was created, not a mere institution of reading and writing, but as an active partner in the spiritual warfare; which is in the Christian life.

RCA does not seek to replace parents; we are the parents' helper, an arm of the home and church - indeed an extention of both. In fact, RCA cannot do anything for a child alone. We are dependent on the consistent teaching and training of the home and the church, similar to the way a person depends on his soul and spirit for the life in his body. Whithout the soul and spirit, a body is dead. Without the home and church, the school is "dead" when it comes to spiritual training.

Our vision is to provide the needed assistance to concerned, dedicated Christian parents in the battle for their children's soul. We want to meet needs that parents can only partially fulfill by themselves, whether they are academic or spiritual in nature. Our vision is to work hand-in-hand with you, the parents, helping mold lives that will make a difference for Christ.

May God help us work together, the school serving the home and church. May God grant parents grace to maintain Christian training in the home while he grants the school the grace to provide all the help and assistance that our vision demands.

In His Service,

Rex Carringer, Pastor
